Fast-growing Norsepower is bringing sails back to shipping – and saving the planet at the same time. Now they are looking for a Marketing & Communications Manager to join their growth.

Norsepower Rotor Sail™ harnesses the wind to maximize fuel efficiency and reduce emissions of ships. It is the first commercially available mechanical sail for large vessels. It has a proven track record since 2014. Norsepower’s Marcom team covers all angles, from high-level planning to down-and-dirty execution. They are not afraid of standing or delivering – they want to get things done. Customers and employees are the kings, and the Marcom team lives according to that.

In this role, you will work closely with Norsepower’s CMO Jufo Peltomaa and help the team create impact. You will do a lot of hands-on work and make things and deliverables happen – but at the same time, you can take part in the high-level marcom strategy and branding. Your primary responsibility is to focus on PR and event organizing. In your role, you will be responsible for the entire process, from brainstorming press release ideas to planning and executing them, ensuring that we reach the right target audiences. Norsepower participates in exciting exhibitions worldwide, and you will play a critical role taking part in their preparations and successful execution. Besides these, content creation and communication with important stakeholders like media, investors, and customers are a big part of the job. In addition to these tasks, you are going to work across the entire Marcom field. As a dynamic and growing company, Norsepower’s processes/roles are not written in stone, so your role will be custom-made for you, considering your skills and interests.

To succeed in this position, Norsepower expects you to have at least a couple of years of work experience in marketing and communications. You work closely with different stakeholders, so we assume you have good communication skills. You have to have full professional proficiency in English to be able to produce brilliant text content and do project management for events. We hope that you have a proactive approach and a can-do attitude. On the other hand, a systematic working style and capability to coordinate tasks helps you. We do not expect you to know everything, as you will receive support from the team. It is good if you are always eager to learn new things, develop yourself, and enjoy working in a fast-growing company. Above all, Norsepower values a hands-on attitude. Readiness to travel around the world from time to time is good! Norsepower’s office is in Ruoholahti, Helsinki, Finland, and we work in a flexible hybrid model.

Bonus skills

  • Knowledge of the shipping industry

  • Advertising background

  • Marcom strategy & branding experience

Norsepower offers you
